A Legacy of Excellence: The Red's Ranch Beef Story
Red's Ranch Beef began with a vision and a piece of fertile Texas land. In the late 1880s, William Thomas Morgan acquired what would become our family ranch in Milam County, Texas. Born in 1864 in Cross Plains, Alabama, W.T. Morgan was a man of determination and foresight who built the original farmhouse in 1894, establishing a legacy that continues to this day.
Together with his wife, Mary Virginia "Donie" Cone Morgan, they raised seven children on this land, instilling values of hard work, stewardship, and commitment to quality that remain the foundation of our ranch operations. Their son Cecil later built the iconic hilltop house that still stands as a testament to our family's enduring connection to this land.
Our ranch's history reaches even deeper into Texas heritage, with family ties to the Republic of Texas through Clement Davis Chandler, an early settler of Round Rock in the 1830s who fought in the Texas Revolution. This connection to Texas' pioneering spirit continues to inspire our approach to ranching and beef production.
